Instructions for setting up TCA bungy reel set

1.  Place securing plates 3 feet beyond end of piste and 1 foot to side of piste edge.  Secure to floor with "duck" tape.
2.  Lay out bungy cord between securing plates and attach first pulley pair to securing plates.  Pull in excess bungy cord so that second pulley pair lie on respective back lines and knot.
3.  With the fencer clip-in points on the piste ends, lay the circuit cable back to the box and secure with "duck" tape to the floor on opposite side of scoring box/table.  i.e the circuit cable for the left fencer should be secured to the right side of the scoring box/table.  This is to allow sufficient wire for fencers to fleche beyond the piste end.
4.  Connect the circuit cables to the scoring box and start fencing.

Frequently asked questions

Q1.  How long does it take to set up the bungy reel system?
A.  The first time you try it will probably take about 10-15 minutes.  Thereafter it becomes quicker until one person can set up the reel set in 7-10 minutes or two people in under 5 minutes.

Q2.  Does the tension increase as you step down the piste?
A.  No.  Because as you step forward your opponent steps back and this keeps the tension reasonably constant.  As a result there is no discernable change in tension as you move up and down the piste.

Q3.  Can you go past your opponent or beyond the end of the piste.
A.  Yes to both questions.

Q4.  Does it feel different to a traditional spool.
A.  No.  Close your eyes and you couldn't tell what sort of reel set you are using.

Q5.  Is the TCA reel set and TCA club FIE scoring box the cheapest way to electric fence in the UK.
A.  YES
